Restaurant Hongdaesak review, in sangsu(Korean food)

 

Hello,

I am a college student, an office worker, and a person who came to Seoul.

Today, I'd like to review "Hongdae-Sak" which is famous for its snack and fried food

The locations are as follows.

It takes about 2 minutes on foot if you come out exit 1 from Sangsu Station

When you arrive in front of the store, there will be a sign saying,
"Old Tteokbokki & Handmade Fried Fries Hongik University Sak."
 

 
There are tteokbokki, fried food, fish cakes that you can see outside like a cart bar

From the thickness of the seaweed roll to the fried dumplings that are being fried next to it..
 

 
Lastly, there's tteokbokki with memories like the snack bar they sold in front of elementary school
 

 
Actually, when I looked at the exterior, I thought there was no space inside, but only for takeout and delivery
 

 
If you tell the staff that you're going to eat, they'll show you around

I was able to eat comfortably enough to have about five to six seats for four.

Just remember that most of them are self-service!

There are so many kinds of fried food, right?

To sell them individually, I think it's more suitable to each other's taste

I liked the fact that you can choose and eat it

I was especially surprised by the meticulousness of these options,
such as squid torso, squid legs, etc!

Then, out of fried assorted vegetables
 
"Sak assorted Fried", "Vegetables assorted Fried", "Seafood assorted Fried"

Vegetables assorted Fried  : Yaki dumpling, sweet potato, sweet pumpkin, chili pepper, perilla leaf kimchi roll, and seaweed roll each 1
 
Seafood assorted Fried  : Yaki dumpling, fish cake japchae, big shrimp, squid body, squid tentacles, seaweed roll, squid cheese balls each 1
 
Sak assorted Fried : 1 each excluding fried shrimp + mini pickled radish
 

 
Next is snacks and drinks

It consists of tteokbokki, sundae, fish cake, drinks, draft beer, and Hogden.

Tteokbokki is a must-have combination for fried food!

I went with two male and female members, but I couldn't tell how much it was

I was wondering if I should eat one portion of tteokbokki or two portions...!

In conclusion, we ordered 6 fried foods, 2 servings of tteokbokki, and 2 skewers of fish cake

The amount of tteokbokki is not that big, so you can order two servings.
(I ate everything)
 

 
Inside the store, there are scissors, tongs, wooden chopsticks, water, etc

It was prepared. They gave us pickled radish plates when we were served

You don't have to be flustered, thinking, 'Oh, why don't we have a plate?'.

There are 6 fried foods (sweet pumpkin, seaweed roll, sweet potato, squid body, chili pepper, jumbo shrimp),
2 portions of tteokbokki, and 2 skewers of fish cake.

At first glance, the amount may seem small, and you might think,
"If you look at tteokbokki alone, there's still a lot..."

As I said earlier, it was a good amount (not too full or hungry)
for two men and women to eat.
 

 
Do you see the sweet red pepper paste-based tteokbokki that's sold at a snack bar in front of the school..

The rice cake was wheat rice cake, and fish cake and green onions were also included in harmony,
so I enjoyed it so much.

And since this bowl is deep, there's a lot of sauce in it

I dip fried food in soy sauce and if I get sick of it, I dip it in tteokbokki sauce

It was a very delicious and delicious tteokbokki that I would have eaten if I had sundae!
 

 
Next is fish cake 2 skewers.

In the past, straight fish cake was 500 won, and that kind of curly fish was 800 won to 1,000 won...

These days, I see places that start at 1,500 won when I go to other places, so I think prices have risen a lot

It's 1,000 won per skewer. Personally, it's firm and has a good texture

I like "Uncooked Fish Cake"

The fish cake from Hongik University School was just like that!
 

 
Next is fried food, which is the main dish.

I ordered 6 pieces of sweet pumpkin, seaweed roll, sweet potato, squid body, red pepper, and jumbo shrimp each.

When I tried it, I knew why it was known as a fried food restaurant

1. First of all, the batter was really crispy

2. You can see the seaweed roll in the middle, and the fried peppers on the far left were full of fillings

3. All the fries were a little big!

And I like vegetables, so sweet potatoes and sweet pumpkin were so delicious!

Even if I go next time, I think I'll order sweet potatoes and sweet potatoes again
